DERP PROOF-OF-WORK

THE PIT

ENTER THE PIT. WORK THE FACE. HAUL THE DERP.

DERP Rigs connect directly to the DERP mining protocol. Each shift uses verified SHA-256 proof-of-work to produce on-chain DERP rewards.

Activate your Rig.

A Rig must have active mining capacity before it can begin working. Once activated, the owner can open a mining shift and begin producing proof-of-work.

SHA-256 does the work.

During a shift, the browser performs SHA-256 hashing against a protocol-defined preimage. The mining pace is fixed by the protocol rather than determined by how powerful the user's hardware is.

The chain verifies the work.

DERP mining is not a simulated reward system. Accepted proofs are verified by the mining contracts before a DERP print is issued.

Verified work produces DERP.

Successful proofs are processed by the DERP protocol and can produce a reward according to the current mining curve and protocol conditions.

The work produces more than DERP.

Accepted certified proofs also contribute to the DERP protocol's certified entropy stream. Through the Conductor, other smart contracts can consume that proof-backed entropy as a bytes32 value.
